Read the full story »Last week Rachel Fannan (Birds Fled From Me, Only You, and Ex-Sleepy Sun) barged up from LA to unleash her musical expertise upon the Bay Area. Tues – Thurs The Rondo Brothers and I worked with her on a collaborative co-writing project at Opus Studios. After 3 days of work, we came out with 2 original songs and one cover.
On Sunday Rachel stopped by Robot Envy to mix some songs for a podcast in the works with some of her peeps down in LA. These tracks sound killer, and she did a great job on the mixes…we need more lady engineers out there!
Just for fun, we recorded a quick jam with me on drums and Rachel on guitar (later switched it up). One Peluso P12 tube mic on the drums, and an E609 on the guitar amp. I later edited the best parts of the jam together into a song and laid down some acoustic guitar and vocals. Here it is (rough mix):
